dystopia

To not know happiness
And to not know pain
Is to not know greed
And to not know gain

For with knowledge, choice must come
And with sameness comes bliss
So with memories comes pain
With predictability, peace

Left within what’s grey and stale
We are deprived and eternally blessed
Of not hearing and seeing beyond
The colors and music that we needed

If the wheel was made to forever turn
And cast off what we’d forget
Does the fault lie in not knowing else
Than the rules and laws we set?

Must we know what we left behind?
To feel what’s wrong and what’s right
For what I remember is truly mine
Mine and mine alone
